Mahle Performance piston rings evolved from their pioneering use of piston ring simulation and computer development tools to develop rings that provide "free" horsepower by successfully minimizing friction. A large selection of coordinated piston ring sets is available in a variety of sizes, designs, materials, and coatings designed to exceed your high performance requirements. The difference is evident on the dyno and on the track. Features and benefits of Mahle Performance piston rings: * 1mm and 2mm steel top rings with patented HV385 supersonic thermal-spray process applied for superior bonding, increased durability, and increased scuff resistance * 1.5mm and 1/16 in. positive-twist, ductile iron, barrel-faced, plasma-moly inlaid top rings * Sport compact ring sets ranging from 81-100mm with steel-nitrided top rings * Traditional, reverse-twist, taper-faced (RBT) cast iron second rings * Tapered Hook Groove (THG) second rings that offer superior oil control when compared to traditional RBT rings * 3-piece style oil control rings in both standard and low tension * Standard-tension expanders are sold separately for select low-tension rings where increased oil control is necessary * CP-20 design oil rings that are easier to install; chemically polished for better oil drain-back with a 20 degree ear angle to ensure side seal around the ring
